Do we have to write position papers?
No, but you must read your background guide thoroughly, and the more you know about your topic the better! We expect that you will be able to recite information from the background guide during committee session!
How do we know which zoom room for each committee?
Easy! The night before the event, check your committee's page on the website. Your zoom code and password will be provided!
How do we make blocs?
Our technology will use breakout rooms through zoom to let you guys speak as blocs during unmods. Your chair will help you do this through chat, where one delegate can list the countries in his bloc!
How do we know users countries if it just says their name on zoom?
This is simple. When you go on to zoom, and before you enter the video chat it will ask you what you want as your name when you join the video call. If not prompted that message, you can change it in zoom settings.
Are there awards? How do we get them...
Yes, there definitely is. They will be emailed out as PDFs and will be standard MUN certificates. We will pin our screen on zoom during closing ceremony with a slideshow featuring the awards. We will have one best delegate, multiple outstanding delegate awards, and multiple honorable mentions and verbal commendations.
How do we pass "notes" to others?
Once everyone has their user set to their country with the proper titling (" The Delegate of - - -") since there will be NO Double delegates. Then you can message other delegates ideas privately, or in a group. If you are not the chair, we ask you not to use messaging to "everyone"
Is their a keynote speaker in the opening ceremony?
Yup, there will be! We are very lucky to have keynote speaker, who works at the make shift hospital in the Javitz Center, helping other everyday.
How does my school sign up? How do we get assignments...
If you go to the Delegate Fees page of the website, you will see for individual delegates you can buy on the website. For School Delegations. you must contact zoomun2020@gmail.com ... Each delegate is 0 dollars but when buying as a delegation, the price lowers depending on how many delegates. Once signed up, paid, and provided us with a list of names, we will email your school's advisor with a delegate assignment chart. Payment can be done through mailed checks, Zelle, ca$h app, PayPal, or Venmo.
