This pandemic is a shocking event to many worldwide, as many nations we're not prepared with the right materials to protect the elder, nurses, and the many in need. The US lacks protection for our citizens, such as masks, and protection wear for the nurses risking their lives to help others. For this reason, all the funds made off ZOOMUN will go to the NGO DirectRelief to support the many in need.

DirectRelief's statement on COVID19 and How They are Helping: 

​

Direct Relief is coordinating with public health authorities, nonprofit organizations and businesses in the U.S. and globally to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to health workers responding to coronavirus (COVID-19).

In the U.S., Direct Relief is delivering protective masks – along with exam gloves, isolations gowns, and other protective gear to healthcare organizations across the country.

Direct Relief is also staging personal protective equipment with regional response agencies across the world, including in the Caribbean and South America through the Pan American Health Organization.

How our funds will be directly contributed...

Our funds that we receive from all the participants will be given directly to COVID19 Relief, but funds handed in to late will go to their relief services for others in needs due to different events happening worldwide. DirectRelief works with disaster relief in hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas and make medical care packs and emergency care packs. We are committed to supporting this NGO, whether is surrounding COVID19 relief or other disasters worldwide. To be clear, all funds received will be put towards COVID relief, but funds handed in late or if the spread of the pandemic is slowing down and the NGO believes parts of our funds should go elsewhere to help other disasters, we will listen to them.

How to donate through us for our CAUSE...

Your chairs will be sharing our events venmo, and zelle accounts to donate if you want to support by providing more funds than your delegate fee, as our cause is urgent and needs as much support as possible. Once we receive all the funds surrounding our event, Donation totals and confirmation of donations will be posted on our website and emailed out. We will be sharing the exact amount of money we have raised, as transparency to our participants is our #1 priority.
